Senator Mark Kelly 1661 N. Swan Rd Suite 238 Tucson, AZ 85712 Dear Senator, Your recent comments promoting the expansion and connection of Military Operations Areas in southeastern Arizona appear to have been made without consulting the substantial amount of opposition that has accumulated to the USAF Special Use Optimization proposal for the 10 MOAs in the region. More than 2,000 petition signatures and hundreds of public comments have been submitted to the Air Force in opposition to the proposal. I suggest that you review the existing details, petition and comments shown at peacefulchiricahuaskies.com before continuing to promote this unneeded and culturally and environmentally damaging expansion of military air activity. The MOAs in southeastern Arizona were dedicated at a time when regional rural populations were minimal compared to today's reality of widespread population growth in those areas. Please review the list of existing massive federally-owned military installations in southern Arizona where such expansion of USAF training airspace is far better suited and non-conflicting with population growth. I appreciate your attention to this important decision-making opportunity to protect the rural communities, cultures and environment of southern Arizona. Respectfully,
